Beyond the Stretch Workshop

By Registered Massage Therapist, Larissa Robinson of Healthy Endeavours Massage Therapy, 564 Plains Rd.

At this workshop we will discuss techniques to further enable athletes to open up and run efficiently.  Additionally we discuss injury prevention.  Participants will need to bring a towel or yoga mat and a belt.  I plan on covering stretching, nerve flossing and postural corrections.  I will select within these topics items for triathletes with a focus on running well.  For stretching we will cover the different types of stretching and when each is appropriate.  Specific stretches for running will be done as a group.  Nerve flossing is a technique similar to stretching but the goal is entirely injury prevention.  We will do some of these techniques with the group.  Lastly we will discuss postural corrections, this will focus on how to enable our bodies to adjust from aerobar cycling to running.
